Ensuring your storage lagoon has a good quality barrier between the stored contents and the surrounding soil and water table is important to ensure there is no seepage, which could otherwise result in contamination of the area or water. The membrane used for storage lagoons is a high-density polyethylene, HDPE. These membranes have excellent chemical and UV resistance, impermeable, high yield and welded strengths and can withstand extreme weather conditions. The liners vary between 1.0mm to 2.5mm in thickness and are independent tested and verified.

Waterlines to the rescue

Service reservoir tank required essential refurbishment due to bacterial failures. Installation of Reg 31 approved flexible membrane to concrete surfaces, baffle walls and columns within the tank was needed to return the tank to service.

The existing Lagoon Liner was in a bad state of repair and a solution was necessary to make the Lagoon impermeable again, in order that it could hold pre treated water, a fast turn around was essential.

4m x 2.4m floating modules were prefabricated off site. Once delivered, the modules were lowered into the lagoon and joined together with flexibke toggles. The float structure was secured tothe perimeter edge with straining wire and safety net.
